July of 2010, Canadian born Jamey Levek approached producer/songwriter JC Smith (Brian Melo, Suzie McNeil, Shiloh, Theo Tams, Marilou, + a plethora of TV/film synchs). A demo quickly turned into an album of hook driven songs that he had written throughout the one year project. With determination and good financial planning, Jamey funded the entire project. This led to a proud moment on Sept. 20th, 2011 where he performed the album Like A Tornado for a large group of cheering fans at the renowned Supermarket in Toronto. Within days of the event, 500 CDs had already been sold, word of mouth and consistent social networking have helped to increase the growing number of sales and online fan base. CBC Radio's Head of Music Resource is among those promoting the album along with several stations throughout the Atlantic Provinces. Toronto's 96.9FM Humber College Radio will be running a feature on their show Unsigned in the new year of 2012. Jamey grew up in a small town in northern New Brunswick, now calls Toronto home. Inspired by his late grandfather's guitar playing, at the age of 13, he was already completely consumed by music and performing for audiences. Never losing focus, the pursuit continued towards honing his skills as a singer/songwriter by performing with many bands at local venues, talent and charity shows. Over the past six years, he has gathered more & more fans by performing for a full house in the RBC Early Risers Charity event at the John Bassett Theatre in Toronto. With a progressive Rock/Pop Adult Contemporary sound and feel of a Sam Roberts, inspiring heartfelt lyrics that cleverly tell stories of love, loss and hope, he offers us a creative variety of old meets new that tends to infect your subconscious. Completely at home on the stage, Jamey will continue to entertain, captivate and share himself with his audience.
